In this case the patient´s teeth 12, 14, 15 and 16 are not worth preserving. These shall be extracted. Afterwards implants are loaded immediately, and a screwed immediate restoration is inserted simultaneously. The operation demonstrates how the bridge is removed first, a mucoperiosteal flap is created and the teeth are extracted. The surgeon then dissects a window in the area of the maxillary sinus. The Schneider membrane is visualized and raised. In this surgery no sinus lift is performed, but only the visualization of the medial sinus wall, so that the oblique insertion of an implant mesial to the sinus in region 15 can be executed. The final immediate treatment comprises the insertion of a directly screwed temporary.more »

The Zygoma-concept, originally applied in tumor surgery eliminates the need for  time-consuming augmentations. Dr. Vrielinck demonstrates with models, how and where Zygoma implants can be inserted and introduces indications and contraindications.more »

During this surgery, Dr. Wolfgang Bolz shows the extraction of anterior teeth with the help of the Swiss Benex system. The Benex Extraction System, in which an anchor is placed in the tooth to be extracted, allows the gentle atraumatic removal of dental roots. It also involves the advantage that root fractures can be avoided. In addition to the demonstrated root extractions, during this operation a mesiodens is removed, and an implant is placed in region 11. Simultaneously, bone augmentation is accomplished by means of an absorbable bone replacement material and the double membrane technique. The healing progress should be evaluated a few months after the operation.more »

Dr. Wolfgang Bolz, Munich/Germany, demonstrates the implantation and immediate fixation of dentures in the upper and lower jaw of an edentulous patient. The point of this surgery is that the posterior implants are inserted at an angle, which allows the insertion of longer implants and increases primary stability. Also, bone augmentation prior to the surgery is not needed. At the end, the implants are immediately loaded with fixed dentures.more »

The bony structures - the maxilla and the zygomatic bone - are shown in the preoperative cone beam ct. Then the three- dimensional planning of the zygomatic implants at the extremely atrophied upper jaw is discussed. Surgeon Dr. Wolfgang Bolz shows the insertion and immediate loading of the zygomatic implants. After preparation of the window at the zygomatic process and careful dissecting off the Schneider (sinus) membrane, the implant hole preparation and insertion of zygomatic implants and other oblique implants in the anterior region of the maxilla are shown in detail. Finally an impression is made and a temporary is inserted.more »
