CAD/CAM resp. CEREC in Restorative Dentistry is introduced in this series by Dr. Alessandro Devigus, Switzerland. In part 1 he presents the diagnostic procedure, his choice of materials and the principles of restorative treatment planning with the CAD/CAM-technology by taking the example of a second left molar in the lower jaw.
In part 2 he explains the preparation rules which are the basis for success of restorations for the posterior region done by Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Added Manufacturing (CAM).
In part 3 he illustrates how the digital scanning is done and the construction of the restauration is computerised.
In part 4 he demonstrates the Computer added manufacturing (CAM) with a CEREC milling unit and the adhesive cementation as an important step by taking the example of a ceramic inlay for a first left molar in the lower jaw.
