In the following presentation, speaker Dr. Kan introduces the viewer the advantages and disadvantages of placing implant directly into a fresh extraction socket. His view is that when implants are placed immediately we can preserve the papillae, but may lose soft tissue buccally. On the other hand if we delay the implant placement after the extraction we can possibly maintain the buccal aspect, but loose the papillae.
The handling of aesthetical failures is shown in beautifully performed clinical cases. The line between the gingival margins between the two front teeth is discussed extensively. All options are presented in detail how best to preserve or even to better the important symmetry of these teeth. A risk assessment analysis is shown how to differentiate between patients with a thick or thin gingival biotype. In the end the ideal vertical implant position is discussed.
