In this scientific lecture Dr. Mehl (Munich) discusses the biological and technical problems of fixed implant supported dentures. To solve the problem of unpredictable retrievability of cemented restoration Dr. Mehl introduces a new crown design which enables the dentist to remove the restorations.
Possible cements for a "semipermanent" (removable) and permanent cementation are investigated. The biological impact of removal attempts is shown in an animal study.
