Dr. Eric Van Dooren, Antwerpen/Netherlands, explains his approach for extraction and immediate implant placement / immediate loading for anterior teeth. He proclaims a change in dentistry by focussing on preservation of what is there rather than rebuilding it painfully. Dr. Dooren illustrates his lecture with various clinical examples. He introduces his treatment concept with tapered normal diameter (3.5-4.0 mm) implants and a new abutment design to help establishing a tight soft tissue seal around the prosthetic abutment. Dr. Dooren even shows the handling of aesthetical failures n clinical cases. The weak link – the soft tissue adhesion to the abutment - is explained in detail and new ways to shape the abutment are shown. Dr. Dooren introduces a study showing soft tissue gain when the new abutment design is used.
