In the following video Dr. Bolz (Munich) raises full flaps in all four quadrants and removes the partially impacted third molars. Initially the prospective incision is marked and the cut performed under special care not to hit the alveolar nerve. After raising a full flap the tooth is mobilized carefully and taken out using a special third molar forceps.
Immediately after removal of the tooth the root tips are inspected for the absence of fractures. The wound is closed passively and a loose disinfecting gauze is placed for one night. The same procedure is applied to the remaining wisdom teeth.
